There is no idol or picture in the temple but a simple cave like Gokh in the inner wall, in which a Gold Plated Holy Shakti Shree Yantraand 51 Bij letters therein, connected with that of the original Yantras of Nepal and Ujjain Shakti Piths, is also ritually installed in such a way it can be visible for devotion, but never photographed in past nor can be so done in future. The worship of this Shree Yantra is done only after tying a bandage on the eyes. The original seat of Ambaji mata is on Gabbar hilltop in the town.

Nathdwara - Shrinathji - Incarnation of Krishna : 1 Day tour

The driving distance between Ahmedabad to Nathwara is 302kms. Duration 6hours.

The Shine at Nathwara was built in 17th century at the spot as exactly ordained by Shrinathji himself. The idol of the Lord Krishna was being transferred from Vrindaban to protect it from the Mughalruler Aurangzeb who, wished to have the deity reside with him in Agra. When the idol reached the spot at village Sihad or Sinhad, the Wheels of bullock cart in which the idol was being transported sank axle-deep in mud and could not be moved any further. The accompanying priests realized that the particular place was the Lord’s chosen spot and accordingly, a temple was built there under the rule and protection of the then Maharana Raj Singh of Mewar. Shrinathji Temple is also known as “Haveli of Shrinathji”.

Nathdwara also famous as the Apollo of Mewar. In Nathdwara, Shrinathji Temple is the centre of attraction. The town is also famous for its pichhwai paintings, handwade terracottas, ivory articles and milk-made sweets. During the times of Holi, Diwali and Janmashtmi throng in large numbers. Apart from festivals like Holi and Janmashtmi Annakutta is a major festival that is celebrated in the Temple. Nathwara is also known for Pichwais painting with Krishna in the centre of various raas-lila and Haweli music.

Itinerary : Drive from Ahmedabad to Nathwara in morning around 5am. Reaching Nathwara at around 11am. Shrinathji Rajbhog Darshan. Visit near by places like Dwarikadesh Mandir Darshan at Rajsamand. Drive back to Ahmedabad.

Somnath Temple in Prabhas Patan near Veraval in Saurashtra on the western coast of Gujarat is first among the twelve Jyotirling Shrines of Shiva.

Somnath Temple is an important pilgrimage and tourist spot of Gujarat. Destroyed and reconstructed several times in the past, the present Temple was reconstructed in Chaulukya style of Hindu temple architecture and complete in May 1951.

The Site of Somnath has been a pilgrimage site from ancient times on account of being a Triveni sangam – the confluence of three rivers – Kapila, Hiran & the mythical Sarasvati. Soma, the Moon god, is believed to have lost his lustre due to a curse, and he bathed in the Sarasvati River at this site to regain it. The result is the waxing and warning of the moon, no doubt an allusion to the waxing and waning of the tides at this sea shore location. The anme of the town Prabhas, meaning lustre, as well as the alternative names Someshvar and Somnath arise from this tradition.
